The overwhelming availability of such a large variety of tools at hardware stores of the kind of Home Depot, Lowe's or Ace Hardware is amazing. That facilitates an average buyer to have all the proper tools required for the installation of a Hardie back siding in his garage. Most of you wouldn't really need any special purpose tool to complete the installation successfully. As a matter of fact you may already be having most of them. Nevertheless here is a list of tools that you would require for doing the needful. Hammer, jigsaw, circular saw, chalk line, level, measuring tape, screw gun, level, tape measure, pencil, Speed Square, and a caulking gun.

On the other hand availability of special siding installation tools facilitate a quicker and easier completion of the job. This list of not so common tools comprises of: Air compressor, Angle grinder (4"), Compound sliding miter saw with special saw blades, Hardie plank sheers and nail guns. As already indicated the list does not mean that you must have these items for execution of your project, but these tools are more helpful and desirable for a fast execution. For example, special purpose blades employed for cutting Hardie plank do not produce so much of dust. Similarly, Hardie plank sheers cut Hardie backer very speedily, but while making small cuts the edges of your Hardie may crumble and make them weak. You could simply install a Hardy with a screw gun, or with a nail gun. In the absence of an air gun and the accompanied air compressor with all its accessories, you cold probably use a screw gun and screws. But if you could borrow a nail gun and compressor you will surely save a lot of time and labor.
